The Brijrama Palace Hotel is housed in a beautiful old stone palace situated on the bank of the River Ganges, located more or less in the midpoint of the long esplanade that connects the various ghats that line the river. To arrive at the hotel, your taxi takes you to the Namo Ghat, where you are met by one of the hotel's boats. During the 20 minutes or so that it takes to reach the hotel, a front desk employee points out the main sites along the way, in essence a mini guided tour. Our room, a Dhanurdhara Room, was across the hall from a terrace that overlooks the river, and it was exceptionally quiet. The room was tastefully done and while not particularly large, it was perfectly comfortable for two people. I especially liked that it had an espresso machine and the bathroom fixtures did not require an engineering degree to operate. It was clean and everything worked. Snacks and fruit are provided at no extra cost. Included in the price of the room was breakfast, high tea and a menu of diverse activities. Breakfast was adequate -- the food was very good although the selection was somewhat more limited than you find at larger five star hotels. We had lunch once in the dining room. The food was excellent, but overpriced. There is 24 hour room service, which is nice. A couple of policies that you should know about. All food is vegetarian only, and no alcohol is served. This was fine with us, as we do not drink and are vegetarian. Tipping is discouraged, and a five percent service surcharge is added to the bill and distributed to the staff. I find this perfectly satisfactory. Two things really stood out for us. First is the location. There is no better location possible. The hotel is right in the center of the esplanade. The best way to experience Varanasi is by walking the esplanade, and there is no other five star hotel along the ghats. The second thing was that the level of service was superb. Every employee without exception made us fee

I had an absolutely unforgettable stay at BrijRama Palace, Varanasi. From the smooth airport pickup to the breathtaking boat ride, everything was flawless. The boat journey gave me the chance to admire the stunning views of the Ganges, with the entire riverfront of Varanasi -Kashi unfolding before me, creating a magical and serene atmosphere. The private dinner on the terrace, with a panoramic view of the Ganges, was an extraordinary experience. Our waiter, Bikash, provided impeccable service, while the live music played on traditional instruments, including the sitar by Nikhil, added to the enchantment. The manager, Khushi, took exceptional care of our entire stay, ensuring every detail was perfect, not just during the dinner but throughout our visit. BrijRama Palace is the perfect blend of luxury and tradition. From the exquisite traditional Indian cuisine to the warm hospitality of the entire staff, everything exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to experience the charm and spirituality of Varanasi in a luxurious and welcoming setting.

I reccomend booking the hotel car service, easy to find driver, felt safe and comfortable. You take a boat to get to the hotel which is an activity itself. When we arrived there were unexpected complimentry activities at different times of day which was such a value add. Frome henna to a flute player to a dancing couple and more. You won't find better hospitality either, every question, request or interaction was met with full attention. The breakfast is fantastic with many options of Indian breakfast, but also pancakes, eggs, fruit & pastries. Tea time was also included and included snacks. We enjoyed a beautiful roof top meal (ask about this) which was a nice change from the everyday restaurant. Basically if food a is a concern, you will never go hungry here. There are additional things that also made the stay lovely but I"ll leave those for you to discover. If we return to Varanasi we would absolutely stay here and reccomend to others.

Located on the banks of the Ganges, BrijRama Palace in Varanasi offers a breathtaking view of the river and the scenic dunes dotted with caravans of camels. Each morning, we enjoyed an excellent breakfast—whether traditional Indian cuisine or continental fare—accompanied by the soothing melodies of the Indian flute and the gentle sound of a canon. The evenings were equally magical, with live Indian dance and music performances that added to the enchanting atmosphere of this unique experience. The hotel itself is a magnificent palace, featuring exquisite rooms adorned with antique furniture that exudes timeless elegance. The staff is exceptionally attentive, and the dinner options are nothing short of extraordinary. I would gladly stay at BrijRama Palace again and wholeheartedly recommend it to friends seeking an unforgettable stay in Varanasi.

The location of this hotel is fantastic right on the ghats and it is a great place to stay if you want to be close to the action in Varanasi. It is a beautiful old palace decorated in a very tasteful way with lovely terraces overlooking the Ganges. The food was very good with a wide choice. A good breakfast and afternoon tea were included in the room rate. The top floor terrace is a lovely place to have dinner in the evening. The service was very good with well trained staff. You arrive and leave the hotel by boat and it is a lovely way to start and end your stay. The hotel also arranged an excellent guide for us and evening and morning boat trips.
